History of El Salvador

EL sheet, el Glowing Backlight. EL sheet poster. EL light products , EL sheet, el Glowing Backlight. EL sheet poster. EL light products
Before the Spanish conquest
Before the Spanish conquest, the area that now is El Salvador was composed of three great indigenous states and several principalities. The indigenous inhabitants were the Pipils, a tribe of the nomadic people of Nahua settled down for a long time in central Mexico. The region of the east was populated and governed by the Lencas. The North zone of the Lempa Hi River was populated and governed by Mayan the Chortis.
Early in their history, the Pipil became one of the few Mesoamerican indigenous groups to abolish human sacrifice. Otherwise, their culture was similar to that of their Aztec and Maya neighbors. Remains of Nahua culture are still found at ruins such as Tazumal (near Chalchuapa), San Andrs, and Joya de Cern (north of Coln).
Spanish conquest
The first Spanish attempt to subjugate this area failed in 1524, when Pedro de Alvarado was forced to retreat by Pipil warriors. In 1525, he returned and succeeded in bringing the district under control of the Captaincy General of Guatemala, which retained its authority until 1821, despite an abortive revolution in 1811. It was Alvarado who named the district for El Salvador ("The Savior." , electrical metal boxes .
Eruption of Ilopango volcano, 189 , el cable .
Independenc , square box .
The first "shout of independence" in El Salvador came in 1811, at the hands of criollo elite. Many intellectuals and merchants had grown tired of the overpowering control that Spain still had in the American colonies, and were interested in expanding their export markets to Britain and the United States. The Indigenous uprisings aimed at Spanish subjugation plagued the territory at this time, and they were re-interpreted by the Republicans to serve their purpose and show popular support for independence. Thus a movement grew amongst the middle class criollo and mestizo classes. Ultimately, the 1811 declaration of independence failed when the vice royalty of Guatemala sent troops to San Salvador in order to crush the movement. However, the momentum was not lost and many of the people involved in the 1811 movement became involved in the 1821 movement , neon accessories .
In 1821, El Salvador and the other Central American provinces declared their independence from Spain. When these provinces were joined with Mexico in early 1822, El Salvador resisted, insisting on autonomy for the Central American countries. Guatemalan troops sent to enforce the union were driven out of El Salvador in June 1822. El Salvador, fearing incorporation into Mexico, petitioned the United States Government for statehood. But in 1823, a revolution in Mexico ousted Emperor Agustn de Iturbide, and a new Mexican congress voted to allow the Central American provinces to decide their own fate. That year, the United Provinces of Central America was formed of the five Central American states under Gen. Manuel Jos Arce.
In 1832, Anastasio Aquino led an indigenous revolt against creoles and mestizos in Santiago Nonualco, a small town in the province of San Vicente. The source of the discontent of the indigenous people was lack of land to cultivate. The problem of land distribution has been the source of many political conflicts in Salvadoran history.
The Central American federation was dissolved in 1838 and El Salvador became an independent republic.
The Oligarchy
El Salvador in its early history was controlled in a localized manner. This form of control was aided by its geography; it had unbridged rivers that could only be crossed at fords and it lacked linking highway that could handle wheeled vehicles. Thus the "Fourteen Families" (actually many dozens of families) that have controlled El Salvador's history were all but feudal lords. Although the constitution was amended repeatedly, (1859, 1864, 1871, 1872, 1880, 1883, 1886), several elements remained constant throughout. The wealthy landowners were granted super-majority power in the national legislature, (for example, the 1824 constitution provided for a unicameral legislature of 70 deputies, in which 42 seats were set aside for the landowners). The president, selected from the landed elite, was also granted significant power throughout. Each of El Salvador's 14 regional departments had a governor appointed by the president. The rapid changes in the constitution are mainly due to the attempts of various presidents to hold onto power. (For example, President Gerardo Barrios created a new constitution to extend his term limit.)
From Indigo to Coffee: Displacement
El Salvador's landed elite depended on production of a single export crop - indigo. This led the elite to be attracted to certain lands while leaving other lands, especially those around former volcanic eruptions, to the poor subsistence farming mestizos and the Indian communes. In the middle of the 19th century, however, indigo was replaced by chemical dyes. The landed elite replaced this crop with a newly demanded product - coffee. The lands that had once been poor for the product (indigo) were suddenly quite valuable. The elite-controlled legislature and president passed vagrancy laws that removed people from their land and the great majority of Salvadorans became landless. Their former lands were absorbed into the coffee plantations (fincas).
Military Dictatorships
Between 1931, the year of Gen. Maximiliano Hernndez Martnez's coup, and 1944, when he was deposed, there was brutal suppression of rural resistance. The most notable event was the 1932 Salvadoran peasant uprising headed by Farabundo Mart and the government retaliation, commonly referred to as La Matanza (the 'slaughter'), which followed. In this 'Matanza', approximately 30,000 indigenous people and political opponents were murdered, imprisoned or exiled. Until 1980, all but one Salvadoran temporary president was an army officer. Periodic presidential elections were seldom free or fair.
From the 1930s to the 1970s, authoritarian governments employed political repression and limited reform to maintain power, despite the trappings of democracy. The National Conciliation Party was in power from the early 1960s until 1979. Fidel Snchez Hernndez was president from 1967 to 1972. In July 1969, El Salvador invaded Honduras in the short Football War related to the Honduran appropriation of land held by Salvadoran immigrants. During the 1970s, there was great political instability. In the 1972 presidential election, opponents of military rule united under Jos Napolen Duarte, leader of the Christian Democratic Party (PDC). Amid widespread fraud, Duarte's broad-based reform movement was defeated. Subsequent protests and an attempted coup were crushed and Duarte exiled. These events eroded hope of reform through democratic means and persuaded those opposed to the government that armed insurrection was the only way to achieve change. As a consequence of this social discontent, left-wing revolutionary groups began to gain strength.
Salvadoran Civil War
Main article: Salvadoran Civil War
In 1979 the reformist Revolutionary Government Junta took power. Both the extreme right and the extreme left now disagreed with the government and increased political violence quickly turned into a civil war. The initially poorly trained Salvadoran Armed Forces (ESAF) also engaged in repression and indiscriminate killings, the most notorious of which was the El Mozote massacre in December 1981. The United States supported the government and Cuba and other Communist states supported the insurgents now organized as the Farabundo Mart National Liberation Front (FMLN). The Chapultepec Peace Accords marked the end of the war in 1992 and FMLN became one of the major political parties.
During the 12-year civil war, human rights violations by both the government security forces and left-wing guerillas were rampant. The accords established a Truth Commission under UN auspices to investigate the most serious cases. The commission recommended that those identified as human rights violators be removed from all government and military posts. Thereafter, the Legislative Assembly granted amnesty for political crimes committed during the war. Among those freed as a result were the Salvadoran Armed Forces (ESAF) officers convicted in the November 1989 Jesuit murders and the FMLN ex-combatants held for the 1991 murders of two U.S. servicemen. The peace accords also established the Ad Hoc Commission to evaluate the human rights record of the ESAF officer corps.
In accordance with the peace agreements, the constitution was amended to prohibit the military from playing an internal security role except under extraordinary circumstances. Demobilization of Salvadoran military forces generally proceeded on schedule throughout the process. The Treasury Police, National Guard, and National Police were abolished, and military intelligence functions were transferred to civilian control. By 1993--nine months ahead of schedule--the military had cut personnel from a war-time high of 63,000 to the level of 32,000 required by the peace accords. By 1999, ESAF strength stood at less than 15,000, including uniformed and non-uniformed personnel, consisting of personnel in the army, navy, and air force. A purge of military officers accused of human rights abuses and corruption was completed in 1993 in compliance with the Ad Hoc Commission's recommendations. The military's new doctrine, professionalism, and complete withdrawal from political and economic affairs leave it one of the most respected institutions in El Salvador.

Washstand

Mobile filing cabinet , Mobile filing cabinet
A washstand is a table or stand containing conveniences for personal ablutions (washing oneself). In its 18th-century form it was called a basin, stand or basin frame, and is still sometimes described as a washhand stand. Its direct, but remote, ancestor was the monastic lavabo, ranges of basins of stone, lead or marble fed from a cistern. They were usually of primitive conception, and a trough common to all was probably more frequent than separate basins. Very occasionally they were of bronze adorned with enamels and blazoned with heraldry.
Very similar usages obtained in castles and palaces, fixed lavatories being constructed in the thickness of the walls for the use of their more important residents. These arrangements were obviously intended only for the summary ablutions which, until a very late date, sufficed to even the high-born.
By degrees the lavabo became portable, and a basin frame is mentioned as early as the middle of the 17th century. Examples of earlier date than the third or fourth decade of the 18th century are, however, virtually unknown. Thenceforth, until about the end of that century, this piece of furniture was usually literally a stand. It was supported upon a tripod; a circular orifice in the top received the basin, and smaller ones were provided for a soap dish and a water-bottle. Sometimes a stand for the water-jug when the basin was in use was provided below, and very commonly there was a drawer, sometimes even two drawers, below the basin.
Great numbers of these stands were made to fit into corners, and a corner wash-stand is still a common object in old furniture shops. Chippendale designed such stands in an elaborate rococo fashion, as well as in simpler form.
As the 18th century drew to its close the custom of using the same apartment as reception room by day and sleeping room by night produced a demand for what was called harlequin furniture pieces which were contrived a double or triple debt to pay. Thus a variety of complicated combination washstands and dressing tables were made, and fitted with mirrors and sometimes with writing conveniences and drawers for clothes. Sheraton developed astonishing ingenuity in devising a type of furniture which, if we may judge by the large number of examples still existing, must have become highly popular.
With the beginning of the 19th century and the expansion of ideals of personal cleanliness, the washstand grew in size and importance. It acquired the form of an oblong wooden table provided, like its smaller predecessors, with orifices for basins and fitted with a brad shelf-like stretcher upon which the jugs were placed when they were removed from the basins. Ample space was provided for soap-dishes and water-bottles. These tables were single or double, for the use of one or two persons. The washstand, as we know it in the 20th century, took its final form when the wooden top was replaced by marble, unpierced, the basins being placed upon the slab, which, in the beginning almost invariably white, were later made of red or other warm-tinted marble.

History

A 1902 political cartoon in The Washington Post spawned the Teddy bear name.
The name Teddy Bear comes from the November 1902 American President Theodore Roosevelt's hunting trip to Mississippi, to which he was invited by Mississippi Governor Andrew H. Longino. There were several other hunters competing, and most of them had already shot something. A suite of Roosevelt's attendants, led by Holt Collier, cornered, clubbed, and tied to a willow tree an American Black Bear after a long exhausting chase with hounds. They called Roosevelt to the site and suggested that he should shoot it. He refused to shoot the bear himself, deeming this unsportsmanlike, but instructed that the bear be killed to put it out of its misery, and it became the topic of a political cartoon by Clifford Berryman in The Washington Post on November 16, 1902. While the initial cartoon of an adult black bear lassoed by a white handler and a disgusted Roosevelt had symbolic overtones, later issues of that and other Berryman cartoons made the bear smaller and cuter.
Morris Michtom saw the drawing of Roosevelt and the bear cub and was inspired to create a new toy. He created a little stuffed bear cub and put it in his shop window with a sign that read "Teddy's bear," after sending the bear to Roosevelt and receiving permission to sell the bears. The toys were an immediate success and Michtom founded the Ideal Novelty and Toy Co., which still exists today.
At the same time, in Germany the Steiff firm, unaware of Michtom's bear, produced a stuffed bear from Richard Steiff's designs. They exhibited the toy at the Leipzig Toy Fair in March 1903 and exported 3000 to the United States.
By 1906 manufacturers other than Michtom and Steiff had joined in and the craze for Teddy Bears was such that ladies carried them everywhere, children were photographed with them, and Roosevelt used one as a mascot in his bid for re-election.
American educator Seymour Eaton wrote the children's book series The Roosevelt Bears, while composer John Bratton wrote "The Teddy Bear Two Step" which, with the addition of Jimmy Kennedy's lyrics, became the song "The Teddy Bears' Picnic".
Production

10 modern day teddy bears of various types.

A teddy bear stuffy, named Zurlain, with corduroy overalls.
Commercially-made, mass-produced teddy bears are predominantly made as toys for children. These bears have safety joints for attaching arms, legs, and heads. They must have securely fastened eyes that do not pose a choking hazard for small children. These "plush" bears must meet a rigid standard of construction in order to be marketed to children in the United States and in the European Union.
There are also companies, like Steiff, that sell handmade collectible bears that can be purchased in stores or over the Internet.
The majority of teddy bears are manufactured in countries such as China and Indonesia. A few small, single-person producers in the United States make unique, non-mass produced teddy bears. One of the oldest remaining American manufacturers that produces "Made in the USA" teddy bears is Stuffington Bear Factory, open since 1959.
Mohair, the fur shorn or combed from a breed of long haired goats, is woven into cloth, dyed and trimmed. Alpaca teddy bears are made from the pelt of an alpaca because the fiber is too soft to weave. In addition to mohair and alpaca, there is a huge selection of "plush" or synthetic fur made for the teddy bear market. Both these types of fur are commercially produced.
Some teddy bear artists specialize in the production of bears made from recycled materials. These artists hunt thrift stores, flea markets, garage sales and trash collection centers as well as their own and their families' basements and attics in search of forgotten treasures to be turned into a collector's dream. Old quilts, dresses, fur collars, coats and stoles as well as beaded bags and garments are quickly transformed into stunning teddy bears.
Some teddy bear artists specialize in crochet bears made out of thread. For these bears artists do not use fabric; they make the fabric crocheting and at the same time make the bear. Thread crochet bears are fully-jointed, miniature bears. They may be made out of crochet cotton thread; Perle cotton thread; Mohair thread; Punch thread; some thin fancy yarn, like eyelash; or any other fiber.
Popularity
Retail sales of stuffed plush animals including teddy bears was $1.3 billion in 2006. The most commonly sold brands include Gund and Ty Inc. Brands associated with teddy bears that enjoyed strong popularity in the 1980's and 1990's are Teddy Ruxpin and Care Bears.
Teddy bears have seen a resurgence in popularity as national "do-it-yourself" chains have opened. Among the largest and best-known are Build-A-Bear Workshop and Vermont Teddy Bear Company.
Some popular mass-marketed teddy bears made today include Rupert, Sooty, Paddington, and Pudsey Bear. Books have also been written with the teddy bear featured as their main character. These include Corduroy, Teddy Tells Time, and Teddy Dressing.
Teddy Bear Museum
The world's first Teddy Bear Museum was set up in Petersfield, Hampshire, England, in 1984. In 1990, a similar foundation was set up in Naples, Florida, United States. These were closed in 2006, and 2005 respectively, and the bears sold by auction.
Teddy Bear Cops
Because police, fire and emergency officials found that giving a teddy bear to a child during a crisis stabilized them, NAPLC created the Teddy Bear Cops? program to distribute teddy bears to police, fire and emergency officials throughout the United States, for their use in providing teddy bears to children in emergency situations.

Chelsea boots for Womens Rubber Boots

Women's Sandals with Leather Upper, Leather Lining and PU Sole , Women's Sandals with Leather Upper, Leather Lining and PU Sole Non-leather Chelsea boots made by Vegetarian Shoes of Brighton, England. Chelsea Boots (also known as dealer boots) are tight-fitting, ankle-high boots of the Victorian era associated with horse riding, which became fashionable again in the early 1960s. The most notable feature of the Chelsea boot is its elastic siding, running from the heel to the top of the shoe. The design began as a type of riding boots known as paddock boots or jodhpur boots. Paddock boots, also called jodhpur boots, were a predecessor to Chelsea boots. Chelsea boots were considered an element of the 1960s mod scene. Their popularity is often attributed in part to musicians such as The Beatles (who wore what became known as Beatle boots) and The Rolling Stones, who primarily wore Chelsea-style boots with Cuban heels. A similar boot is the heavier Blundstone boot, which is popular in Australia. One source states that Charles Goodyear's discovery of vulcanised rubber enabled Sparkes-Hall, bootmaker to Queen Victoria, to invent the elastic gusset boot in 1837. The advantage of elasticated boots meant they could be easily removed and put on again, which appealed to busier and more demanding lifestyle of Victorian women. By the late 1840s, the fashion began to catch on. This became a prominent style in the West until the onset of World War I. They have recently become in fashion again amongst men as casual boots. The boots were featured in the first three Star Wars films, worn by the stormtroopers of the Empire. The stormtrooper boots were standard black Chelsea boots which were stained white (50 pairs of boots were ordered) References ^ Podiatry Department, School of Physiotherapy, Curtin University See also Blundstones are similar to Chelsea boots. Its most extensive use is as a black pigment which is synthesised rather than being extracted from the naturally occurring mineral as the particle size and shape can be varied by the method of production. Contents 1 Preparation 2 Reactions 3 Structure 4 Properties 5 Uses 6 Biological Occurrence 7 References // Preparation Pigment quality Fe3O4, so called synthetic magnetite, can be prepared using processes that utilise industrial wastes, scrap iron or solutions containing iron salts (e.g. those produced as by-products in industrial processes such as the acid treatment (pickling) of steel): Oxidation of Fe metal in the Laux process where nitrobenzene is reacted with iron metal using FeCl2 as a catalyst to produce aniline: C6H5NO2 + 9Fe + 2H2O ? C6H5NH2 + Fe3O4 Oxidation of FeII compounds, e.g. the precipitation of iron(II) salts as hydroxides followed by oxidation by aeration where careful control of the pH determines the oxide produced. Reduction of Fe2O3 with hydrogen: 3Fe2O3 + H2 ? 2Fe3O4 +H2O Reduction of Fe2O3 with CO: 3Fe2O3 + CO ? 2Fe3O4 + CO2 Production of nano-particles can be performed chemically by taking for example mixtures of FeII and FeIII salts and mixing them with alkali to precipitate colloidal Fe3O4. The reaction conditions are critical to the process and determine the particle size. Reactions Reduction of magnetite ore by CO in a blast furnace is used to produce iron as part of steel production process: Fe3O4 + 4CO ? 3Fe + 4CO2 Controlled oxidation of Fe3O4 is used to produce brown pigment quality ?-Fe2O3 (maghemite): 2Fe3O4 + ? O2 ? 3(?-Fe2O3) More vigorous calcining, (roasting in air), gives red pigment quality ?-Fe2O3 (hematite): 2Fe3O4 + ? O2 ? 3(?-Fe2O3) Structure Fe3O4 has a cubic inverse spinel structure which consists of a cubic close packed array of oxide ions where all of the Fe2+ ions occupy half of the octahedral sites and the Fe3+ are split evenly across the remaining octahedral sites and the tetrahedral sites. Both FeO and ?-Fe2O3 have a similar cubic close packed array of oxide ions and this accounts for the ready interchangeability between the three compounds on oxidation and reduction as these reactions entail a relatively small change to the overall structure. Fe3O4 samples can be non-stoichiometric. The ferrimagnetism of Fe3O4 arises because the electron spins of the FeII and FeIII ions in the octahedral sites are coupled and the spins of the FeIII ions in the tetrahedral sites are coupled but anti-parallel to the former. The net effect is that the magnetic contributions of both sets are not balanced and there is a permanent magnetism. Properties Fe3O4 is ferrimagnetic with a Curie temperature of 858 K. There is a phase transition at 120K, the so-called Verwey transition where there is a discontinuity in the structure, conductivity and magnetic properties. This effect has been extensively investigated and whilst various explanations have been proposed, it does not appear to be fully understood. Fe3O4 is an electrical conductor with a conductivity is significantly higher (X 106) than Fe2O3, and this is ascribed to electron exchange between the FeII and FeIII centres. Uses Fe3O4 is used as a black pigment and is known as C.I pigment black 11 (C.I. No.77499). Fe3O4 is used as a catalyst in the Haber process and in the water gas shift reaction. The latter uses an HTS (high temperature shift catalyst) of iron oxide stabilised by chromium oxide. This iron-chrome catalyst is reduced at reactor start up to generate Fe3O4 from ?-Fe2O3 and Cr2O3 to CrO3. Nano particles of Fe3O4 are used as contrast agents in MRI scanning Biological Occurrence Magnetite has been found as nano-crystals in magnetotactic bacteria (42-45 ?m) and in homing pigeon beak tissue...(and so on) To get More information , you can visit some products about car ashtrays, men's collar, cardbus adapter, commercial food dehydrator, bowling rental shoes, olive oil soap, air compressor fittings, wood machines, silver snake chain, arc furnace, . Wearable art for Costume Bridal Jewelry

I want to introduct something about stabilised turquoise donut necklace. stabilised turquoise donut necklace 18'' long with a white gilded clasp which can be changed to a sterling silver clasp customers samples and designs are welcomed Welcome try order Favorite discount for bulk orders stabilised turquoise donut necklace mo See also art jewelry. Wearable art, also known as Artwear or "art to wear", refers to individually designed pieces of (usually) hand-made clothing or jewelry created as fine or expressive art. While the making of any article of clothing or other wearable object typically involves aesthetic considerations, the term wearable art implies that the work is intended to be accepted as a serious and unique artistic creation or statement. Pieces may be sold and/or exhibited. The modern idea of wearable art seems to have surfaced more than once in various forms. Marbeth Schon's book on modernist jewelry (see the section on jewelry below) refers to a "wearable art movement" spanning roughly the years 1930 to 1960. A 2003 New York Times review of a book on knitting refers to "the 60s Art to Wear movement". Most wearable art is made of fibrous materials and constitutes therefore a branch of the wider field of fiber art, which includes both wearable and non-wearable forms of art using fabric and other fiber products. Wearable art as an artistic domain can also of course include jewelry, or clothing made from non-fiber materials such as leather, plastic sheeting, metals, etc. Contents 1 Wearable fiber art 2 Jewelry as wearable art: the mid-twentieth century "wearable art movement" 3 Extreme examples of wearable art 4 External links // Wearable fiber art Artists creating wearable fiber art may use purchased finished fabrics or other materials, making them into unique garments, or may dye and/or paint virgin fabric. A few artists make their own fabrics, for example on looms. As with any other art form, the talent and skills of artists in this field vary widely. Since the nature of the medium requires craft skills as well as artistic skills, an advanced artist can be expected to study color theory, chemistry, sewing, clothing design, and computer software such as Photoshop and Illustrator. Classes in clothing design and marketing may be learned from such colleges as the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. The New Zealand city of Nelson has gained a worldwide reputation in the field of wearable art, with its World of WearableArt Awards, held annually since 1987. From 2005, the show moved to Wellington. In Australia, the Shearwater Wearable Arts or W.A.V.E. (Wearable Arts Vision In Education) has developed from a High School initiative to become a leading Wearable Arts Event. Jewelry as wearable art: the mid-twentieth century "wearable art movement" Some twentieth-century modern artists and architects sought to elevate bodily ornamentation that is, jewelry to the level of fine art and original design, rather than mere decoration, craft production of traditional designs, or conventional settings for showing off expensive stones or precious metals. In "Modernist Jewelry 1930-1960: The Wearable Art Movement" (2004), author Marbeth Schon explores unique and innovative wearable art objects created by surrealists, cubists, abstract expressionists, and other modernist artists working in the middle decades of the twentieth century. For the main article on this kind of wearable art, see art jewelry. Extreme examples of wearable art Not all garments created as wearable art are made from traditional fibers or fabrics, and not all such artworks are meant for ordinary, practical use. Performance and conceptual artists have sometimes produced examples which are more provocative than useful. A well known example is the "Electric Dress", a burqa-like costume consisting mostly of variously colored electrified and painted light bulbs, enmeshed in a tangle of wires, created in 1956 by the Japanese Gutai artist Atsuko Tanaka. This extreme garment was something like a stage costume. Not really wearable in an everyday, practical sense, it functioned rather as part of a daring work of performance art (though the "performance" element consisted merely of the artist's wearing the piece while mingling with spectators in a gallery setting). In Charlotte Moorman's 1969 piece called "TV Bra for Living Sculpture," she wore a bra made of two small television sets. More recently, Canadian artist Andrea Vander Kooij created a group of pieces called "Garments for Forced Intimacy" (2006). According to an essay at Concordia University's Faculty of Fine Arts gallery website, these hand-knit articles of clothing are designed to be worn by two people, and they, "as the name states, compel the wearers into uncharacteristic proximity." Paper cartridge for water slide paper

I want to introduct something about Top Grade Dry Abrasive Paper. Top Grade Dry Abrasive Paper Top grade dry abrasive paper with garnet abrasi Paper cartridge refers to one of various types of small arms ammunition used before the advent of the metallic cartridge. These cartridges consisted of a paper cylinder or cone containing the bullet, gunpowder, and, in some cases, a primer or a lubricating and anti-fouling agent. The term combustible cartridges is applied to those paper cartridges that use paper treated with oxidizers to allow them to burn completely upon ignition. Contents 1 History 1.1 Cultural impact 2 Advantages of paper cartridges 3 Construction and use of a paper cartridge 3.1 Cartridges for smoothbore muskets 3.2 Cartridges for percussion rifles 3.3 Nitrated cartridges for percussion revolvers 3.4 Paper cartridges for breech loaders 3.5 Paper shotshells 4 References 5 External links // History Paper cartridges have been in use for nearly as long as hand-held firearms, with a number of sources dating their use back to the late 14th century. Historians note their use by soldiers of Christian I in 1586, while the Dresden museum has evidence dating their use to 1591, and Capo Bianco writes in 1597 that paper cartridges had long been in use by Neapolitan soldiers. Their use became widespread by the 17th century. Cultural impact Paper cartridges were often coated in beeswax, lard, or tallow, which served a number of purposes. It provided some degree of water resistance, it lubricated the paper-wrapped bullet as it was pushed down the bore, and it melted upon firing to mix with the powder residue and make the resulting fouling easier to remove. Since the standard procedure for loading a musket or rifled musket involved biting open the cartridge, this can cause problems for those with strict dietary restrictions. The Sepoy soldiers in the employ of the British in India, for example, were largely Hindu, who were forbidden to eat beef, or Muslim, who were forbidden to eat pork. Rumors of the use of lard and tallow in the lubrication of the cartridges they were using were part of the cause of the Indian Rebellion of 1857. The 1944 Newbery Medal winning historical novel Johnny Tremain, set in Boston during the period leading up to the American Revolution, describes the making of paper cartridges. Advantages of paper cartridges The most common applications of paper cartridges were in muzzleloading firearms. While these may be loaded with loose powder and balls or bullets, a paper cartridge combines a pre-measured amount of powder with the ball in a sealed unit. This eliminated the operation of measuring the powder during loading. In the case where multiple projectiles were used, such as buck and ball loads, the cartridge also served to package up the projectiles, so they did not have to be measured or counted out. The paper also served as a patch in smoothbore firearms, which fired undersized balls sealed in the barrel by a paper or cloth patch. The paper used in cartridges varied considerably. The instructions for making Enfield paper cartridges, published in 1859, which uses three pieces of paper of two different thicknesses, shows the complexity that could be involved. Some cartridges, such as those for percussion revolvers, used nitrated paper. Treated by soaking in a potassium nitrate solution and then drying, this made the paper far more flammable and ensured it burned completely upon firing. Despite the complexity involved in their construction, paper cartridges were used through the time of the American Civil War, after which time they were displaced by modern metallic cartridges. Construction and use of a paper cartridge Paper cartridges varied in their construction based on the firearms for which they were used. There are a number of features which are not specific to the firearm, and so apply to any paper cartridge. For example, the cartridge must be sturdy enough to withstand the handling it can be expected to receive. This means either a sturdy paper must be used, or the cartridge must be reinforced for strength. The importance of paper cartridges can be seen by the existence of cartridge paper, a paper specially produced for the production of paper cartridges. In some cases the cartridges were produced directly from paper pulp, and formed into a seamless cylinder of the correct diameter. Cartridges for smoothbore muskets Smoothbore muskets were loaded with undersized lead balls, which were sealed using a patch of paper or cloth. A typical flintlock cartridge consisted of a paper tube, tied off in three places to form two compartments. The first compartment contained the projectile or projectiles, either a single round ball or a large round ball plus three buckshot in the case of a buck and ball load. The second compartment contained the charge of powder. To load the musket, the following steps were used: Hold the musket level, place at half cock,...(and so on) To get More information , you can visit some products about portable humidifier, metal soap dish, drum roller, hot tea maker, 3 way refrigerator, mesh ergonomic chairs, yarn open end, aromatherapy bottles, solid surface vanity, driver usb hub, . The building is nicknamed "the toaster" due to its apparent resemblance to the kitchen appliance. In November 2007 an apartment in the building sold for $8.4 million. With an internal area of 190 square metres, the price of $44,210 per square metre is an Australian record. Many locals feel that the design of the building does not enhance the Sydney Harbour foreshore. They were notable for having a small zippered pocket on the side of the shoe, large enough for a small amount of loose change, keys, or more recently, condoms. KangaROOS were designed by American architect and jogging enthusiast Bob Gamm. Gamm was a running enthusiast who would go ten kilometers a day, but preferred light athletic clothes without pockets. He designed the sneakers for his own personal use as a place to store his keys and money, then marketed them effectively. His marketing design was successful, leading to sales in excess of 700,000 pairs a month by the early 1980s. Further refinements on the original design led to several significant innovations in athletic footwear. One such innovation, the Dynacoil, was an patented energy release system designed in the mid-1980s by former Nike designer Ray Tonkel and consultant Al Gross and tested by NASA. Many other athletic shoe manufacturers would later incorporate similar designs into their shoes. In the early- to mid-1980s many USA professional athletes wore ROOS football and baseball shoes as well as shoes for running and training. Notables included Walter Payton, O.J. Anderson, William (the Fridge) Perry (football), Ozzie Smith, Vince Coleman and Ron Darling (baseball), and Kenyan track stars (running). There was a faddish dimension to the shoes, which became very popular among both casual athletes and American schoolchildren. Gamm himself remained committed to KangaROOS as serious athletic footwear, and in 1985 he worked with a 10,000-square-meter testing facility called the KangaROOS Laboratory & Gymnasium at the U of Illinois. This allowed for refinement and development of the sneakers for many different sports, including American football, basketball, hockey, tennis, and track and field. By the end of the 1980s, the popularity of the sneakers was on the decline, executives departed the company and KangaROOS were quietly withdrawn from the market. However, nostalgia, combined with an appreciation both of the shoe's athletic design and its ubiquitous pocket, led to a reappearance of the shoe in the late 1990s. Today, KangaROOS are sold in over sixty countries worldwide. The footwear moved its strategic focus from performance sports to sports lifestyle footwear. Most still bear the zippered pocket on the side. Some, however, now have a side pouch up on the ankle, which can hold a small wallet. Person's Sons whiskey was confiscated (each case containing 12 bottles each) and ordered destroyed, unless properly packaged as a medicinal medium only, along with payment of a $2,000 bond. According to case files, the packaging was corrected and the bond was paid. When Prohibition was finally enacted, C. Person's Sons was forced to close down, being too large of a business to continue running as a speakeasy or moonshine operation. Two weeks before the official closing, people from all over Western New York began lining up to buy and presumably stock up on what would soon become an illegal commodity. The line formed each day, all day, and when the business finally closed its doors, there were still 2,000 cases of whiskey still remaining, giving testament to the size and volume of C. Person's Sons business. Flag AnthemThe Internationale Capital Ruijin Language(s) Chinese Religion State atheism[citation needed] Political structure Socialist republic Historical era Interwar period -Established 1931 -Disestablished 1934 The Chinese Soviet Republic (traditional Chinese: ????????; simplified Chinese: ????????; pinyin: Zh?nghu S?w'?i Gghu), also translated as the Soviet Republic of China or the China Soviet Republic, and often referred to in historical literature as the Jiangxi Soviet (after its largest component territory the Jiangxi-Fujian Soviet, seat of its central government), was a state established in November 1931 by the future Communist Party of China leader Mao Zedong, legendary general Zhu De and others. Its other, discontiguous territories were: Northeastern Jiangxi Soviet Hunan-Jiangxi Soviet Hunan-Hubei-Jiangxi Soviet Hunan-Western Hubei Soviet Hunan-Hubei-Sichuan-Guizhou Soviet Shaanxi-Gansu Soviet Hubei-Henan-Anhui Soviet Honghu Soviet (Haifeng-Lufeng Soviet in eastern Guangdong, China's first Soviet territory, had been crushed before the declaration of the CSR and is considered more a predecessor than a constituent part). Mao Zedong was CSR State Chair and Prime Minister - at once the Head of the State and of its Government. It was from this "small state within a state" that he gained the experience in mobile warfare and peasant organization that he later used to accomplish the Communist conquest of China in the late 1940s. The CSR was destroyed by the Kuomintang (KMT)'s National Revolutionary Army in a series of Encirclement Campaigns eventually designed by the German general Hans von Seeckt. "Chinese Soviet Republic" (Chinese: "????????") was born, even though the majority of China was still under the control of the nationalist Government of the Republic of China. On that day, they had an open ceremony for the new country, and Mao Zedong and other Communists attended the military parade. Because it had its own bank, printed its own money, collected tax through its own tax bureau, therefore, it is considered as the beginning of Two Chinas. With Mao Zedong as both Head of State (????, 'State Chair') and Government (??, Prime Minister), the Jiangxi Soviet gradually expanded, reaching a peak of more than 30,000 square kilometres and a population that numbered more than three million, covering considerable parts of two provinces (with Tingzhou in Fujian). Furthermore, its economy was doing better than most areas that were under the control of the Chinese warlords. In addition to the militia and guerrilla, its regular Chinese Red Army alone already numbered more than 140,000 by the early 1930s, and they were better armed than most Chinese warlords' armies at the time. For example, not only did the Chinese Red Army already have modern communication means such as telephones, telegraphs and radios which most Chinese warlords' armies still lacked, it was already regularly transmitting wireless messages in codes and breaking nationalist codes. Only Chiang Kai-shek's army could match this formidable Communist force. The Kuomintang (KMT), led by Chiang Kai-shek, felt threatened by the Soviet republic and led other Chinese warlords to have the National Revolutionary Army besiege the Soviet Republic repeatedly, launching what Chiang and his fellow nationalists called Encirclement Campaigns at the time, while the Communists called their counter attacks counter encirclement campaigns. Chiang Kai-shek's first, second and third encirclement campaigns were defeated by the Chinese Red Army led by Mao. However, after the third counter encirclement campaign, Mao was removed from the leadership and replaced by the Chinese Communists returning from the Soviet Union such as Wang Ming, and the command of the Chinese Red Army was handled by a three man committee that included Wang Ming's associates Otto Braun (Li De), the Comintern military advisor, Bo Gu, and Zhou Enlai. The Jiangxi Soviet thus began its inevitable rapid downfall under their policy of extreme leftism and incompetent...(and so on) To get More information , you can visit some products about polycarbonate roofing sheets, embroidery silk, travertine slab, sun visor cap, toy train electric, wooden kitchen furniture, auto darkening helmet, check ball valve, personalized wall calendars, chrome plating kits, . Waste container for mobile filing cabinet

I want to introduct something about . Vaibhav Laxmi Handicrafts, Jodhpur, India is a renowned, well established manufacturer, supplier and exporter of Indian Colonial-Period Furnitures, Antique Reproductions, Decorative, Gifts, Home Furnishings, Iron Wares, Garden Accessories & Furnitures , Ethnic Crafts, Craving Items and So o (Redirected from Trash can) 'Wastebin' redirects here. For the temporary deletion of a computer file see Recycle bin (computing). A circle of bins A waste container is a container for temporarily storing waste, which is usually made out of metal or plastic. Common terms are dustbin, rubbish bin, litter bin, garbage can, trash can, trash bin, dumpster, Container Bin, Bin trash barrel, and rubbish barrel; the word can generally refers to a container made out of metal. The words "rubbish" and "bin" are more common in British English usage; "trash" and "can" are more common in American English usage. Contents 1 Explanation 1.1 Indoor bins 1.2 Curbside dustbins 1.3 Bins in public areas 2 Waste Bins and other uses of the term in Popular Culture 3 See also 4 Footnotes // Explanation Indoor bins Indoor bins are traditionally kept in the kitchen to dispose of culinary excess such as fruit peelings or bottles, although there are also wastepaper baskets or wastebaskets which are used in offices to dispose of waste paper and other office refuse. Sometimes a bin can simply be referred to as "the garbage" or "the trash", in an example of a question, such as when one might ask "Where's the bin?" in an unfamiliar kitchen. A wheelie bin in Berkshire, England Most bins have heavy lids on the top to seal in the odor that garbage tends to emit. Though most have to be opened manually, indoor bins sometimes have pedals which open the lid when stomped on. Many bins are now water tight and need to be checked to stop leaking. Indoor bins are traditionally lined with bin bags, which keeps the bin itself clean, facilitates the removal of the garbage and allows disposal with minimal contact to the contents. A common practice is to place multiple bags in each bin once a day so that one can empty the container by removing the bag and not have to replace it, speeding up the process. Rubbish is usually kept in these receptacles until full, at which point they are transferred via the aforementioned bin bags to an outside receptacle such as a dumpster, or simply to the roadside. Curbside dustbins A message of encouragement for people to use the container rather than leaving garbage elsewhere. The curbside dustbins usually consist of three types: trash cans (receptacles often made of tin, steel or plastic), Dumpsters (large receptacles similar to skips) and wheelie bins (light, usually plastic bins that are mobile). All of these are emptied by collectors, who will load the contents into a garbage truck and drive it to a landfill, incinerator or consuming crush facility to be disposed of. Trash and recycling cans are often separated by type In some areas there is also a recycling service, often with one or more dedicated bins intended to receive items that can be recycled into new products. These bins are separated into different categories (usually represented by colours) which determine what materials can be inserted into the bin. The most common materials used for recycling are paper, glass, metal, plastics and "green waste" (compostable material, either garden waste or food scraps or both). A bin that needs to go in a bin The contents of the bins are taken to a recycling plant to be processed, and there are various systems for recycling bin collection: single bin combined stream systems, multiple bin systems, and cyclic collections with different materials collected on different days. An office waste paper bin Bins in public areas A wall mounted garbage container Certain public areas such as parks have litter bins which are placed alongside paths frequently walked by visitors. This encourages people to avoid littering, which creates an unhealthy and aesthetically unpleasant social environment. Bins in outdoor locations or other busy public areas are usually mounted to the ground or wall. This discourages theft, and also reduces vandalism by making it harder for someone to physically move or maneuver the bins; to spill their contents on the ground for example, or to use the bin as an effective weapon to hit people over the back with. Since the 1995 terror bombings in France, public trashcans have largely been replaced by transparent plastic bags, in which it is difficult to hide a bomb. In the past terrorists have left improvised explosive devices in bins. The bomb is much less likely to be spotted than an unattended bag and the metal bins provide extra shrapnel that injures people nearby when it detonates. For this reason there are no bins in most railway stations, most airports, and many shopping centres in the United Kingdom, or if they are provided they are just a bin bag hanging from a metal loop. Photo by Frederick Nacino. Margaret Kerry (born Peggy Lynch, circa 1930, Los Angeles) is an American actress, motivational speaker and radio host best known for her 1953 work as the model for Tinker Bell in the Walt Disney Pictures animated feature, Peter Pan. Kerry answered an audition call during the planning stages of the film. The audition, supervised by Disney animator Marc Davis, required her to pantomime the motions that would eventually be animated as Tinker Bell, such as preening in a mirror at her feet. She won the audition and spent the next six months at the Disney Studios on a mostly empty soundstage pantomiming the role on film. The studios provided props as well, notably a giant keyhole mounted on a stand as well as a pair of giant scissors, later used in the scene in which Tinker Bell became trapped in a jewelry box. Kerry also provided the basis of the red-haired mermaid in the Neverland lagoon scenes. She was replaced in Peter Pan II as the same Mermaid. Since Disney released the film at about the time Marilyn Monroe had begun to make an impact, an urban legend immediately sprung up attributing the role to her. Contents 1 Early history 2 Television work 3 Today 4 External links // Early history While working under her given name as a dancer and actor in three of the Our Gang comedy shorts, she came to the attention of Eddie Cantor who cast her in the role of his teenaged daughter in the film If You Knew Susie as well as bestowing her stage name on her. She graduated high school with honors while working on the film and later graduated cum laude from Los Angeles City College. Television work While still a teen, Margaret Kerry gained a role as "Sharon" in one of the very first network sitcoms, The Ruggles on ABC-TV. The show's farewell episode after its three-year run featured Sharon's wedding and honeymoon, a major media event. She also appeared on The Andy Griffith Show in two episodes. A voiceover talent with a repertoire of twenty-one dialects and forty-eight character voices, Kerry provided the voices (and lips) for characters on 260 episodes of the groundbreaking children's television show, Clutch Cargo, including major characters "Paddlefoot" and "Spinner". She also provided numerous voices and live-action lead-ins for The New 3 Stooges and Space Angel animated series for Cambria Productions. Today Since 1992, Margaret Kerry has worked as producer, writer and host of "What's Up Weekly" on KKLA-FM Los Angeles, a Christian radio station. As the station's community services director, she heads an outreach program that connects to more than 200 non-profit service agencies. She also attends conventions and signs autographs for fans, including the Mid-Atlantic Nostalgia Convention. Often mistaken for actress Peggy Lynch because of her screen name, Kerry has been mis-credited as starring on the old-time radio program, "The Couple Next Door." It is currently out of print, and a reprint promised for the end of 2006 has not appeared. It has been reprinted so many times that a given copy has accumulated numerous typographical errors, due to re-keyboarding the entire text at each printing, with minimal proofreading and no editing. It shares this property with paperback reprints of the original Dune novel. Contents 1 Plot introduction 2 Plot summary 2.1 Background 2.2 Places 3 Curiosities 3.1 The Agnostic's Prayer 4 References 5 External links // Plot introduction The novel is set in the far future, with humans on many worlds. Some have god-like powers, or perhaps are gods the names and aspects of various Egyptian Gods are used. Elements of horror and technology are mixed, and it has points in common with Cyberpunk. Creatures of Light and Darkness was originally conceived and written as nothing more than a writing exercise in perspective by Roger Zelazny, yet when published turned into one of Zelazny's more popular books. Unlike other books by Zelazny, such as Lord of Light or the The Chronicles of Amber series, this novel is more poetic in style, and contains less straightforward action. However, like other novels, Zelazny incorporates ancient myth, in this case from Egyptian and some Greek myth, and weaves ultra-futuristic technology with fantasy elements. Plot summary Background The Universe was once ruled by the god Thoth, who administered the different forces in the Universe to keep things in balance. In time, he delegated this administration to his "Angels" (other god-like beings), who were each in charge of different "stations", or forces in the Universe. Such stations included the House of the Dead, the House of Life, the House of Fire, and so on. At some point, Thoth had awakened a dormant, malevolent force on a distant planet. This dark force, called the Thing That Cries In The Night, is so powerful and malevolent that it nearly obliterated Thoth's wife and threatens to consume the galaxy. Thoth works to contain and destroy the creature, and in so doing, neglects his duties in maintaining the Universe. The Angels become rebellious and use the power vacuum to fight amongst themselves for dominance Thoth's son Set, who through an anomaly in Time is also his father, fights the creature across a devastated planet. Just as Set is about to destroy the creature, he is attacked by the Angel Osiris, who unleashes the Hammer That Smashes Suns, a powerful weapon that nearly kills Set and the creature. Thoth's brother, Typhon, who was helping Set in the battle, vanishes without a trace and is presumed dead. (Typhon appears as a black horse-shadow, without a horse to cast it. He contains within himself something called Skagganauk Abyss, which resembles a black hole, not a term in common use at the time.) The Thing That Cries In The Night survived the blast, and so Thoth, who has meanwhile been utterly overthrown by his Angels, has no choice but to contain the dark force until he can find a way to destroy it. He also revives the personality of his wife and keeps her safe on a special world known only to him, where the seas are above the atmosphere, not below them. He also scatters Set's weapons and armor across the Universe for safe-keeping in the event that Set can ever be found. Having been overthrown, he is now dubbed The Prince Who Was A Thousand by all in the Universe. Some of the surviving Angels either hide among the peoples of the Universe as mysterious "immortals", but otherssiris and Anubisake over the House of Life and the House of Death, respectively. Other stations are abandoned, and Osiris and Anubis are the only two powers in the Universe now. Osiris cultivates life where he can, while Anubis works to destroy it. Plenty and famine, proliferation and plague, overpopulation and annihilation, alternate in the Worlds of Life between the two Stations, much to the detriment of those who inhabit them. Places The geography of this universe contains several curious places: The House of Life, ruled by Osiris, contains a room in which Osiris has reduced various people in his past into furnishings. These furnishings can speak (or scream) via wall-mounted speakers. A skull (with brain) for a paperweight. An enemy whose nervous system is woven into a rug. I want to introduct something about Jilbab. Jilbab Jilbabs,Abaya,Caftans,Dishdashes,Orientals.Kurties,Pant Suits and other Modern Ladies Dresses,With Embroideries,Applicked and much much more.. We are already Exporting to various European Countries. We can also get you manufactured any style and design you request.Do not hesitate to ask more questions. Charging Bull in Bowling Green, New York Charging Bull (sometimes called the Wall Street Bull or the Bowling Green Bull) is a 3,200?kg (7,000pound) bronze sculpture by Arturo Di Modica that sits in Bowling Green park near Wall Street in New York City. The sculpture depicts a bull, the symbol of aggressive financial optimism and prosperity, leaning back on its haunches and with its head lowered as if ready to charge. The sculpture, one of the city's most photographed artworks, has become a tourist destination in the Financial District. It has also come to be an unofficial symbol of the Financial District itself, and it often appears in the local news media to punctuate stories about optimism in the financial market. Contents 1 Construction and installation 2 Ownership 3 Symbolism 4 References 5 Further reading 6 External links // Construction and installation Di Modica spent some US$?360,000 to create, cast, and install the sculpture following the 1987 stock market crash as a symbol of the "strength and power of the American people." The sculpture was the artist's idea, not the city's. In an act of "guerrilla art", he trucked it to Lower Manhattan and on December 15, 1989, installed it in front of the New York Stock Exchange as a Christmas gift to the people of New York. The police seized the sculpture and placed it into an impound lot. The ensuing public outcry led the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation to install it two blocks south of the Exchange in the plaza at Bowling Green. It faces up Broadway. Ownership In 2004, Di Modica announced that the bull sculpture was for sale, on condition the buyer does not move it from its present location. Di Modica continues to own the copyright to the statue. In 2006, Di Modica sued Wal-Mart and other companies for illegally benefiting from his copyright, by selling replicas of the bull and using it in advertising campaigns. Symbolism Besides symbolizing the bull market phase of the business cycle, a cast statue of a bull is mentioned in the Bible story about the golden calf. References ^ D. Starter solenoid for car starter motor

I want to introduct something about Spa Pump. Spa Pump Place of Origin: China Brand Name: HUIHENG Model No: BM Certification: ISO9001: 2000,CE,RoHS Usage: Water Terms of Payment: T/T,L/C at sight BM series spa pumps meet international standards for water retention and electrical specifications. IP55 protective housing allows the pump to be installed indoor or outdoor. Features: 1) Super-flow: black magic unique design provides powerful water flow to the spa jets; leading edge CFD technology has refined the impeller and flow path for optimum performance and efficiency, ensuring you to relax in an invigorating water massage 2) Quite operation: black magic optimized water flow path reduces water turbulence and noise inside the pump casing; the TEFC motor has integral moulded elastomer anti-vibration pad in the motor foot for super quite operation Packing A starter solenoid (or starter relay) is the part of an automobile which relays a large electric current to the starter motor, which in turn sets the engine in motion. Operation The starter solenoid receives a large electric current from the car battery and a small electric current from the ignition switch. When the ignition switch is turned on, a small electric current is sent to the starter solenoid. This causes the starter solenoid to close a pair of heavy contacts, thus relaying a large electric current to the starter motor, which in turn sets the engine in motion. The starter motor is an electric motor that initiates piston motion in a car's internal combustion engine before it can power itself. The starter motor is a series-wound direct current electric motor with a solenoid switch (similar to a relay) mounted on it. When low-current power from the starting battery is applied to the starter solenoid, usually through a key-operated switch, it pushes out the drive pinion on the starter driveshaft and meshes the pinion with the ring gear on the flywheel of the engine. The starter solenoid also closes high-current contacts for the starter motor and it starts to run. Once the engine starts, the key-operated switch is opened, a spring in the solenoid assembly pulls the pinion gear away from the ring gear, and the starter motor stops. The starter's pinion is clutched to its driveshaft through an overrunning sprag clutch which permits the pinion to transmit drive in only one direction. In this manner, drive is transmitted through the pinion to the flywheel ring gear. If the pinion remains engaged, because the operator fails to release the key as soon as the engine starts, the pinion will spin independently of its driveshaft. This prevents the engine driving the starter, for such backdrive would cause the starter to spin so fast that it would be seriously damaged. The starter solenoid can be located under the hood of a car by following the positive (red) cable from the battery, which usually leads directly to the solenoid. Then, the solenoid will have another cable of similar or equal weight which will go down to the starter, which is normally accessed from the bottom of the vehicle. The solenoid will also have a third wire, which comes in from the starter switch. Starter solenoids can also be built into the starter itself, often visible on the outside of the starter. Problems If a starter solenoid receives insufficient power from the battery, it will fail to start the motor, and may produce a rapid clicking or clacking sound. The lack of power can be caused by a low or dead battery, by corroded or loose connections in the battery cable, or by a damaged positive (red) cable from the battery. Any of these problems will result in some, but not enough, power being sent to the solenoid, which means that the solenoid will simply make a clicking sound, rather than setting the starter motor in motion. To reduce the likelihood of starter solenoid failure, the battery connections should be cleaned and tightened at every oil change. Starter solenoid problems can be diagnosed by a mechanic at a service center by a test of the car's starting, charging and battery systems. He was an inventor and locksmith. He is best known for having invented the hydraulic press. Along with William George Armstrong, he can be considered one of the two fathers of hydraulic engineering. Contents 1 Early life 2 Improved water closet 3 Bramah Locks company 4 Machine tools 5 Hydraulic press 6 Other inventions 7 Death 8 Patents 9 Notes 10 References // Early life He was the second son in the family of three sons and two daughters of Joseph Bramma (note the different spelling of the surname), a farmer, and his wife, Mary Denton. He was educated at the local school in Silkstone and on leaving school he was apprenticed to a local carpenter. On completing his apprenticeship he moved to London, where he started work as a cabinet-maker. In 1783 he married Mary Lawton of Mapplewell, near Barnsley, and the couple set up home in London. They subsequently had a daughter and four sons. The couple first of all lived at 124 Picadilly, but later moved to Eaton Street, Pimlico. Improved water closet His first successful invention whilst in London was an improved water closet. He found that the current model of water closet being installed in London houses had a tendency to freeze in cold weather. He designed a new model in which the usual slide valve was replaced by a hinged flap that sealed the bottom of the bowl. He obtained a patent for his design in 1778 and began making water closets at a workshop in Denmark Street, St Giles The design was a success and production continued well into the 19th century. His original water closets are still working in Osbourne House, Queen Victoria's home on the Isle of Wight. Bramah Locks company After attending some lectures on technical aspects of locks, Bramah, designed a lock of his own. He received a patent for his new lock in 1784. As a result, Bramah started the Bramah Locks company at 124 Picadilly. which survives today. The locks produced by his company were famed for their resistance to lock picking and tampering, the company famously had a "Challenge Lock" which was displayed in the window of their London shop from 1790 mounted on a board containing the inscription: The artist who can make an instrument that will pick or open this lock shall receive 200 guineas the moment it is produced. The challenge stood for over 67 years until, at the Great Exhibition of 1851 an American locksmith by the name of Alfred Charles Hobbs was able to open the lock and, following some argument about the circumstances under which he had opened it, was awarded the prize. Hobbs attempt still took him some 51 hours, spread over 16 days. The Challenge Lock is in the Science Museum in London. An examination of the lock shows that it has been rebuilt since Hobbs picked it, originally it had 18 iron slides and 1 central spring. It was rebuilt to have 13 steel slides, each with its own spring. Bramah received a second patent for a lock design in 1798. Machine tools Partly due to the precision requirements of his locks, Bramah spent a lot of his time developing tools to assist him in various manufacturing processes. He relied heavily on the expertise of Henry Maudslay whom he employed in his workshop from the age of 18. Between them they created a number of innovative machines that made the production of Bramah's locks more efficient, but which were also applicable to other fields of manufacture. Just before Bramah died, his workshops also employed Joseph Clement who among other things made several contributions in the field of lathe design. Hydraulic press Bramah's most important invention was the hydraulic press. The hydraulic press depends on Pascal's principle, that pressure throughout a closed system is constant. The press had two cylinders and pistons of differing cross-sectional areas. If a force was exerted on the smaller piston, this would be translated into a larger force on the larger piston. The difference in the two forces would be proportional to the difference in area of the two pistons. In effect the cylinders act in a similar way that a lever is used to increase the force exerted. Bramah was granted a patent for his hydraulic press in 1795. Bramah's hydraulic press turned out to have many industrial applications and still does to this day. At the time hydraulic engineering was an almost unknown science, and Bramah (with William George Armstrong) was one of the two pioneers in this field. The hydraulic press is still known as the Bramah Press after its inventor. ..(and so on) To get More information , you can visit some products about step led light, used ring, indoor garden lights, butcher paper roll, light dimmer remote control, angular bearing, club head cover, solar light panel, modern canvas painting, machine oils, . These first Mennonite inhabitants were part of deeply religious communities, for the most part, but did not establish confessional churches. The first official Mennonite Brethren congregation was founded in Winkler in 1888 as a result of mission work from the United States. In 1892, Winkler was officially founded by Valentine Winkler, a lumber entrepreneur and politician who owned and operated his own lumber business in nearby Morden. Because Winkler's many customers from the Mennonite settlement wanted him to build a market in their vicinity, he persuaded the Canadian Pacific Railway to build a spur route on the northeastern edge of the settlement where Winkler had been established. Winkler was incorporated as a village on May 9, 1906. By that time, the flourishing village had become home to a number of German, Jewish and Anglo-Saxon merchants. The Mennonites began moving into the village soon after; by World War I, they outnumbered all other groups. During the 1930s, a large number of Jewish and German merchants emigrated from Winkler, causing a decline in population. However, the village's population increased after World War II, and on April 7, 1954, Winkler was incorporated as a town. Following a halt in growth during the 1960s, the town's rapid growth in population resumed and continued into the 1990s. On April 7, 2002, Winkler was officially granted city status. The city celebrated its centennial anniversary in summer 2006. Geography and climate Located on the western edge of the Red River Valley, Winkler is located at the corner of provincial highways 14 and 32. It is approximately 100 kilometres southwest of Winnipeg and 70 kilometres northwest of a 24-hour United States border crossing at Emerson. Winkler is situated on the prehistoric beaches of Lake Agassiz. The lake's shores were formed over 10,000 years ago by the Pembina Escarpment, located a few kilometres west of Winkler. A secondary beach known as the Emerado Beach lies to the west of Winkler. This gentle rise in elevation was formed thousands of years ago when the draining of Lake Agassiz temporarily stalled. Winkler has an elevation of 272 metres above sea level. The rich soils of the area are separated by the Emerado Beach. Coarser textured loamy sand soils, located to the west, are suitable for irrigation and produce potato, corn and bean crops. To the east, finer textured clay soils produce sugar beets, canola, beans, corn and small grains. Winkler's climate is typically continental, resulting in dry cold winters and hot, frequently dry summers (USDA Plant Hardiness Zone 3b). Summer temperatures typically range from 20 to 30, while winter temperatures average between -15 and -25. The Winkler area obtains the most heat units for crop production in Manitoba. Winkler receives an annual average of 416mm of precipitation (most of which falls during the spring and summer months), of which 119.7cm falls as snow. Winkler's average frost-free period is 125 days. Average High in () City July January Morden 27 (81) -11 (12) Economy Winkler is the economic hub of southern Manitoba. The concept is a popular one in the United States, Europe, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. In the United Kingdom, it is normally described as a conservatory, although the room may not contain plants. Contents 1 Design 2 History 3 Niche markets 4 Price range 5 References // Design The structure is often referred to as a patio room, solarium, conservatory, patio enclosure or Florida Room. It can be constructed of brick, breeze block, wood, glass or PVC. The brick or wood base makes up the main support for the PVC, referred to as the "knee wall", which is attached to the top of it. The glass panels are large and often clear instead of frosted. The roof may be of glass panels but is more usually of a plastic material which lets in sunlight. Newer rooms are typically constructed of aluminum framing with tempered glass as the primary structure. The room system is normally constructed of aluminum insulated panels or glass for the "high end" options. Skylights may be included in the insulated panels. The outside of the roof is normally constructed with a shingled roofing material. Whereas the majority of florida rooms or sunrooms of the past appeared to be disassociated with the home, newer public taste places a great deal of emphasis in blending the sunroom into the architecture of the home. With the latest technologies of glass and heat resistant technology, sunrooms are now able to be used as efficiently in the southern states such as Florida, Texas and Arizona as is possible in the colder, northern states. History Farmhouses and urban row homes featured a covered porch as a place for the user to sit and relax. With the suburbanization of America, families increasingly used their back patios and gardens for this purpose. However, weather conditions often made patios unusable at times, providing an incentive for families to cover and screen in their patios for privacy and for shelter. As this trend evolved, so did improvements in glass manufacture, making it possible to attach storm windows together to enclose a patio space. During the 1960s, professional re-modelling companies developed affordable systems to enclose a patio or deck, offering design, installation, and full service warranties. Patio rooms featured lightweight, engineered roof panels, single pane glass, and aluminium construction. These versatile patio rooms extended the outdoor season, provided protection from rain, wind and insects, and gave homeowners extra space. The interior of a sun room warms quickly in sunlight, even on cold days, and may provide a means of heating the part of the main house into which the sun room or conservatory opens. Furniture and plants located in a sun room/conservatory should be resistant to temperature change. As customers became more energy conscious and building technology aware, patio and sunrooms became available with insulated glass, vinyl and vinyl-wood composite framework, and more elaborate designs. Many American companies also began to offer greenhouses and conservatories, which were popular in Europe. Niche markets European companies discovered a niche market where customers wanted extra privacy. This meant that blinds and curtains were specially developed to be fitted into the sunroom without damaging the stability of the structure. This has proved a profitable industry where blinds can now be controlled from electronic hand-held devices. Another market is for specialised flooring in sunrooms. In earlier sunrooms, floors were often tiled because of the possibility of roof leaks, and cold air entering resulted in the room becoming chilly. Floors with heated pipe and insulation are now available. Types of flooring are available in a wide variety of materials and forms and customers are no longer restricted to tiles. Older sunrooms which are not structurally sound, may be prone to leaks and draughts, so traditional tiled floors are still in demand. Newer pre-engineered sunroom designs must meet strict criteria to obtain building permits and product approvals through various agencies. Certain features such as thermal breaks and glass that is designed to meet the high demands of a sunroom will greatly aid in the utilization of the sunroom in a manner that will prevent leakage and allow for full year 'round usage. To watch for glass that is rated for a sunroom minimum standards, make absolutely certain that as a minimum your windows meet or exceed: (Side Windows) 56% or less of Visible Transmittance (Glare), 29% or less of Solar Transmittance, 13% or less of Ultraviolet Transmittance, -8 degree fahrenheit minimum condensation temperature, 57 degree...(and so on) To get More information , you can visit some products about super nitro rs4, equipment spare parts, knitted gloves, 2 way phones, buckle and belt, blue tooth headphone, wheel roller shoes, steel flange, elephant statues, ceramic christmas tree lights, . Modular propeller for hub assembly rear

I want to introduct something about SAK /JXB Series Terminal Block. SAK /JXB Series Terminal Block Brand Name: JINH Type: universal Price Terms: FOB SHANGHAI OR NINGBO USD 0.075~0.08 Terms of Payment: D/P,T/T Supply Ability: 2000 Piece/Pieces per Day Minimum Order: 2000 Piece/Pieces Packaging: Paper box Delivery Lead Time: among 7 days SAK/JXB series combined terminal blocks mainly use Germany Woodmelers connection technology, and designed and made at home. JXB is only for mountin gon , increase the high current terminal series. The purpose of a modular propeller is to provide more control over a boats performance. The most common modular propeller is comprised of 3 main parts: the center hub with an integrated front cap, a set of replaceable blades, and a rear cap. Assembly of the propeller is completed by sliding the base of the blades into the corresponding slots of the center hub, and then placing the rear cap onto the assembly. A nylock nut, prop nut, and cotter pin of another prop nut will be added to keep the assembly together. Modular propellers offer boaters several advantages a fixed pitch propeller. The ability to change blades allows boaters to make adjustments in pitch for various performance needs or a change in altitude. Carrying spare blades for this purpose takes up considerably less space then carrying a complete spare propeller. The ability to replace blades also offers the advantage of replacing damaged blades while still on the water, and saves long term repair costs. Other options include adjusting pitch for altitue, watersports, cruising, and quick turnover time. An applicable way to view blade pitch is through car gears. A pitch of 13 is similar to 1st gear: less speed, more power and acceleration. The 3rd gear of a car would be in comparison to a propeller with a pitch of 17. Good acceleration and top end speed is offered with a 17 pitch. A higher pitch of 21 is similar to 5th gear, which is more speed for given rpm, but has less acceleration capabilities. When changing a props pitch, it is important to know the specified range of diameter and pitch options from the boat manufacturer. If RPMs are too low, the engine can ver rev. In contrast, if the RPMs are too high, the engine may lug at wide open throttle. The best estimate is that for every 2 inch pitch change will result in approximately 400 RPM change at wide-open throttle. An increase in pitch will cause the RPM to drop, and a decrease in pitch will increase the RPM Patent Stahl, B. patent 2006 References ^ http://www.engineeringnews.co.za/article/a-new-start-for-marine-propellers-2005-03-18 Categories: Propellers Hidden categories: All pages needing to be wikified | Wikify from February 2009 | Articles with topics of unclear notability from March 2009 | Orphaned articles from February 2009 | All orphaned articles(and so on) To get More information , you can visit some products about baby leather booties, digital capacitance meter, v3 data cable, rice cookers stainless steel, childrens canvas shoes, pvc conduits, chemicals reagent, cheap wardrobes, mix shoes, bottled mineral water, . The Ford Territory is a crossover SUV built by Ford Australia and based on the EA169 platform of the Ford BA Falcon. It was released in April 2004. Its code name inside Ford was E265. It won the 2004 Wheels Car of the Year award, the reviewers praising car-like handling and practicality as reasons for its win. Ford had reportedly spent A$500 million on developing the range over four years. It is built on the same production line as the Australian-made Falcon. While many suspected that it would replace the Falcon wagon, the two actually co-exist together because the Territory is bought mainly by private buyers, the Falcon wagon by fleets.
Australian and New Zealand models are slightly different visually: all models sold in New Zealand have body-colour bumpers and alloy wheels, including the base model. Front light detail resembles that of jewellery in a black box. In New Zealand, the only rear wheel drive model is the base version and all other models have all wheel drive; while in Australia, all models are available with either rear wheel drive or all wheel drive.
South African sales for the Territory began in 2005. Exports to Thailand began in 2006, with the Thai model being offered only in AWD Ghia trim.

SX (20042005)
The original model was the SX and was produced between 20042005. The engine was the 4.0litre DOHC I6 Barra engine from the Falcon, developing 182kW (244hp).
Appearance-wise, the Territory resembles the Ford Taurus X sold in North America. Both cars have similar styling cues -- it was this that sold the Territory to Ford executives at the head office in Dearborn, Michigan. Simon Butterworth, who was behind the Ford Falcon facelift of 2003, styled the Territory but had worked with his American counterpart, J Mays, in working in the global Ford "DNA". Marcus Hotblack worked on the Territory's interior, with a Swiss army knife as a metaphor. Consequently, the car has touches such as flexible cupholders and a handbag holder to the side of the seat for female drivers, recognizing that many SUV buyers are women.

Both rear- and all-wheel drive configurations were offered in three trim levels. All-wheel drive models have an optional Hill Descent Control system, using the anti-lock braking system to control the car's motion downhill, inherited from Land Rover.
Options of five seats (in two rows) or seven seats (in three rows) are available. The rows of seats are arranged in a "theatre style", with the back row highest. They fold down smoothly into the floor. A DVD player is available as an option on all models.

Graphically, the game uses a cel-shaded style. It does not support 16:9 widescreen or progressive scan. Critics have noted that the graphics are generally underwhelming, according to IGN this is because the visuals are largely ported from the older GameCube game GT Cube with minor updates. IGN complimented the gameplay, stating, "GT Pro Series feels like a quick cash-out title, and Wii players deserve better." Eurogamer pointed out how the game shows serious problems for any future serious racers on the Wii, while commenting that the game itself was, "... absolutely, unequivocally, shockingly awful." It is traditionally made of porcelain, but glass and plastic funnels are also available. On top of the funnel-shaped part there is a cylinder with a perforated plate separating it from the funnel. The Hirsch funnel has a similar design; it is used similarly, but for smaller quantities of material. The main difference is that the plate is much smaller, while the walls of the funnel angle outward instead of being vertical. The filtration material, usually filter paper, is placed on the plate, and the filter paper is moistened with a solvent to prevent initial leakage. The liquid to be filtered is poured into the cylinder and drawn through the perforated plate by vacuum suction. The main advantage in using this type of filtration is that it proceeds much more quickly (several orders of magnitude) than simply allowing the solvent to drain through the filter medium via the force of gravity. It is essential that the amount of solvent being used be limited to less than what would overflow the flask, otherwise the solvent will be drawn into the vacuum equipment. If the vacuum is provided by a water flow device, an overflow of the solvent could result in the spilling of a hazardous solvent into the wastewater stream, a potential violation of the law, depending on the solvent. The potential for overflow and the potential for water to be drawn back into the flask can be reduced by using a trap between the flask and the vacuum source. It is used in organic chemistry labs to assist in collecting recrystallized compounds. The suction allows the wet recrystallized compound to dry out such that the pure dried crystal compound is left remaining. However, it is often the case that further drying is required, by an oven or other means, in order to remove as much residual solvent as possible. It is often used in combination with a Bhner flask. It is commonly thought to be named for the Nobel Laureate, Eduard Buchner, but it is actually named for the industrial chemist Ernst Bhner. References ^ Jensen, William B. (September 2006). Nixie tube for plastic packaging tube

I want to introduct something about reduction elbow. reduction elbow Features: 1) Healthy and non-toxic, free of stain and scale 2) High temperature resistance (maximum water temperature up to 90oC) and high pressure resistance (over 5MPa) 3) Hot welding connection adopted, making pipes and fittings into a whole, leakage Effectively prevented 4) Excellent heat insulation property from minimum thermal conductivity (only one Hundredth of that of metal pipes) 5) Light weight (approximately one eighth of that of metal pipes) , easy to handle And transport 6) Smooth inner wall, reducing pressure loss and increasing flow speed 7) Low noise, reduced by 40% compared to galvanized steel pipes 8) Soft colors and excellent design, suitable for installation either exposed or Hidden 9) Wonderful ability in chemical corrosion resistance 10) Easy and fast installation, making cost minimized 11) Over 50 years of service life under normal condition reduction elb The ten digits of a GN-4 Nixie tube. A nixie tube is an electronic device for displaying numerals or other information. The glass tube contains a wire-mesh anode and multiple cathodes. In most tubes, the cathodes are shaped like numerals. Applying power to one cathode surrounds it with an orange glow discharge. The tube is filled with a gas at low pressure, usually mostly neon and often a little mercury and/or argon, in a Penning mixture . Although it resembles a vacuum tube in appearance, its operation does not depend on thermionic emission of electrons from a heated cathode. It is therefore called a cold-cathode tube (a form of gas filled tube), or a variant of neon lamp. Such tubes rarely exceed 40 (104 ) even under the most severe of operating conditions in a room at ambient temperature. The most common form of nixie tube has ten cathodes in the shapes of the numerals 0 to 9 (and occasionally a decimal point or two), but there are also types that show various letters, signs and symbols. A related device is the pixie tube, which uses a stencil mask with numeral-shaped holes instead of shaped cathodes. Some Russian nixies, e.g. the IN-14, used an upside-down digit 2 as the digit 5, presumably to save manufacturing costs as there is no obvious technical or aesthetic reason. Each cathode can be made to glow in the characteristic neon red-orange color by applying about 170 volts DC at a few milliamps between a cathode and the anode. The current limiting is normally implemented as an anode resistor of a few tens of thousands of ohms. Nixies exhibit negative resistance and will maintain their glow at typically 20 V to 30 V below the strike voltage. Some color variation can be observed between types, caused by differences in the materials and gas mixtures used. Longer-life tubes that were manufactured later in the nixie timeline have mercury added to reduce sputtering resulting in a blue or purple tinge to the emitted light. In some cases, these colors are filtered out by a red or orange pigment coating on the glass. Contents 1 Applications and lifetime 2 History 3 Revival 4 See also 5 References 6 External links // Applications and lifetime The way the digits are stacked in a nixie tube is clearly visible in this picture. Nixies were used as numeric displays in early digital voltmeters, multimeters, frequency counters and many other types of technical equipment. They also appeared in costly digital time displays used in research and military establishments, and in many early electronic desktop calculators, including the first: the Sumlock-Comptometer ANITA Mk VII of 1961. Later alphanumeric versions in fourteen segment display format found use in airport arrival/departure signs and stock ticker displays. Some elevators also used nixies to display the floor numbers. Pair of NL-5441 Nixie display tubes Average longevity of nixie tubes varied from about 5,000 hours for the earliest types, to as high as 200,000 hours or more for some of the last types to be introduced. It should be noted that there is no formal definition as to what constitutes "end of life" for nixies, mechanical failure excepted. Some sources (Weston 1968, p.340) suggest that 50% reduction in emitted light would not be acceptable; however cathode poisoning resulting in incomplete digit display, whilst generally not preventing the tube from being used, may also be considered unacceptable. Nixie tubes are susceptible to multiple failure modes, including simple breakage, cracks and hermetic seal leaks allowing the atmosphere to enter, cathode poisoning preventing part or all of one or more characters from illuminating, increased striking voltage causing flicker or failure to light, sputtering of electrode metal onto the glass envelope blocking the cathodes from view, internal open or short circuits which may be due to physical abuse or sputtering. Driving nixies outside of their specified electrical parameters will accelerate their demise, especially excess current, which increases sputtering of the electrodes. A few extreme examples of sputtering have even resulted in complete disintegration of nixie tube cathodes. As testament to their longevity, and that of the equipment which used them, in 2006 several suppliers still provide common nixie tube types as service replacement parts, new in original packaging.[citation needed] Equipment with nixie tube displays in excellent working condition is still plentiful, though much of it has been in frequent use for 3040 years or more. Such items can easily be found as surplus and obtained at very little expense. It is worth noting that in the former Soviet Union, nixies were still being manufactured in volume in the 1980s, so Russian and Eastern European nixies are still generally easily and cheaply...(and so on) To get More information , you can visit some products about truck tyre, fiberglass roof panels, pressure pot, wireless computer keyboard, slim n lift supreme, false nail, used copier, glass canister, used inflatables, luxury showers, . Most commonly found in television remote controls, infrared ports are equally ubiquitous in consumer electronics, such as PDAs, laptops, and computers. The functionality of CIR is as broad as the consumer electronics that carry it. For instance, a television remote control can convey a "channel up" command to the television, while a computer might be able to surf the internet solely via CIR. The type, speed, bandwidth, and power of the transmitted information depends on the particular CIR protocol employed. Contents 1 Protocol description 1.1 CIR and Protocol Implementation 1.2 CIR-equipped Consumer Electronics 1.3 Standards 1.4 Protocol limitations 1.5 Technical information 2 External links 3 See also 4 Notes // Protocol description Since the Consumer IR protocols are for the most part not standardized, computers and universal remotes often memorize a bit stream, possibly with compression and possibly without determining the actual bit rate, and play it back. Similarities between remotes are often largely the accidental result of the finite selection of infrared encoder/decoder chips (though now microcontrollers are also used) and IR receiver modules or imitation of the older chips rather than by design. Manufacturers of consumer appliances often do reuse the same protocol on many similar devices, though for each manufacturer and device type there are usually multiple protocols in use; simply look at the code listings for any universal remote. CIR and Protocol Implementation With the ready availability of inexpensive microcontroller chips, many remotes may be based on such chips today rather than dedicated remote control encoder chips. This makes it easier to keep the same codes when moving the buttons on the remote. Also, the decoder functionality will often be integrated into a more complicated micro-controller which controls the A/V device, eliminating the need for the separate chip. In the absence of a viable standard, the microcontrollers can be used to emulate the ambiguous protocols used by the old dedicated encoder/decoder chips and it appears that this is often the case. There are even stripped down 4 bit mask programmable microcontrollers designed only for remote control use (such as NEC uPD6124A (discontinued), uPD6125A (discontinued), uPD6126A (discontinued), uPD6132, uPD6133, uPD6134, ?PD1724x, uPD67AMC, uPD68AMC, uPD68AMC, uPD6P9M1MC (OTP), upd6PLM3MC (OTP), and ?PD17932x (8-bit)). These offer keyboard wake, low power standby modes, and sample controller code though similar features are present on more general PIC microcontrollers. CIR-equipped Consumer Electronics Sony manufactured a number of consumer devices of different types which shared a common protocol, called S-link. A jack on each device allowed the remote control signals to be interconnected between devices. The protocol included the useful but unusual feature of supporting more than one of the same type of device (such as multiple CD changers). Some A/V components could generate informational status codes that could be used to do things like automatically stop your tape deck when the CD you were recording stopped playing. Software running on a PC with a suitable interface could also control the A/V components and monitor their activity; for example, your computer could tell what disk and track were playing in your CD changer and look up the titles in one of the internet CD databases. Sony charges $5000 for access to the S-Link documentation. Some infrared wireless PC keyboards and mice use protocols similar to Consumer IR devices. Some PC remote controls used for controlling computer media players, controlling presentation software, or other applications also use Consumer IR style protocols. Some computer remotes, keyboards, and mice may also use IrDA protocol though IrDA was designed for very short range use. Standards The RC-5 and RECS-80 codes developed by Philips have been casually referred to as international standards . However, the RECS-80 protocol was prone to interference and was quickly replaced by the RC-5 protocol. Although it appears that they were proprietary protocols developed by Philips, they were also adopted by various other manufacturers, specifically European- and US-based ones. This allowed interoperability between the remote handsets and equipment of various brands. The RC-5 code was, and still is, used by many US- and European-based manufacturers of specialty audio/video equipment. Unfortunately documentation of the standard commands were not widely distributed. Therefore there are some brands of equipment that use non-standard commands, causing interference with other equipment also using the RC-5 protocol. "Twenty Years to Midnight" "Love-Bheits" "Victor. Echo. November." is an episode of the animated television series The Venture Bros., the sixth episode of the second season. Contents 1 Plot 2 Cultural references 3 Connections to other episodes 4 Production notes 5 Goofs 6 References // Plot Dr. Venture offers Dr. Orpheus a rent discount if he distracts the boys for the night, mostly so he can watch what he thinks is a porn film (The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas) without interruptions. With grave misgivings, Orpheus agrees to allow Triana and her friend Kim (played by Nina Hellman) to go on a double date with Dean and Hank, respectively, as he teaches a class in conjuring at The New School that evening. Orpheus painfully attempts to give "the talk" to Triana, who knows full well the Venture boys are harmless. Brock drops the boys off at a restaurant after giving them some much-needed advice on how to deal with women (and forcing Hank to change into his normal outfit from a Batman costume). Doctor Girlfriend expresses her disgust at Phantom Limb's idea of "supervillainy", which is selling stolen artwork to sleazy collectors. In exasperation, Limb uses his "killer hands" on the current prospective customer and immediately expresses regret, mainly at the subsequent mess. Girlfriend storms off to change from her skimpy Queen Etherea outfit to "normal" clothes for their double date, in which they plan to meet The Monarch and an unknown woman (whose LiveJournal name is JollyRancher82, also played by Nina Hellman). The Monarch is excitedly preparing for the date, which is to regain Guild membership and also another attempt to reclaim Doctor Girlfriend. The henchmen ditched the Monarch-mobile after the unfortunate "Venture incident", however, and Number 24 has to drive himself, Number 21, and his boss to the date in his Nissan Stanza. They head to the restaurant in relative silence. Coincidentally, they meet at the same restaurant at which Hank and Dean are nervously awaiting their dates. Triana arrives in a dress, while Kim sports goggles and a shiny, revealing outfit. Hank assumes that she is a supervillain and tries harder than usual to impress her. Unfortunately, his mentioning of Dean's past encounter with testicular torsion and calling himself the 'Hankinator' only serve to embarrass Dean. A few tables away, Limb (whose various recollections of his origin are recounted by Hank, Monarch, and #21) is slowly discussing the paperwork that will allow Monarch to rejoin the Guild of Calamitous Intent and formally destroy Venture (his only real concern, unimpressed with the various plans and deals the Guild offers). As the simmering rivalry over Dr. Girlfriend's hand escalates, Limb boasts that he could destroy the entire Venture family with a phone call. Scoffing, Monarch dares him to follow on his claim. Limb smugly speaks into a headset, calling for a "blackout" designating target "Victor Echo November Seven Niner." Back at the compound, the steel shutters close on all windows and entrances. Brock bellows for the Doc to get to the panic room, but Venture shrugs him off, as "lockdowns" are a fairly normal occurrence for him. Only when Brock vaults naked into the den covered in blood, gripping a severed head, and proclaiming this to be the Guild's doing does Dr. Venture begin to take him seriously, but is still uncertain of the level of danger he's in. A moment later, the power shuts off and Dr. Venture proclaims not to worry, "The back-up generators should turn on in just a-" (back-up generators turn on, and are immediately shut off as well) "Umm. This is different, isn't it Brock?." Brock orders H.E.L.P.eR. (the robot switches into an extremely impressive attack mode) to escort Venture to the panic room as he leaves to secure the area. He subdues another attacker and learns that the Guild is targeting "four and a robot." Aware that the boys are in danger, Brock (still nude and bloody) sp eeds off in his Charger to ensure their safety. None of the "dates" are going particularly well. Monarch's companion has fled in tears, Dr. Girlfriend is infuriated by the immature posturing of both villains, and Kim and Triana are understandably puzzled with the boys' behavior, as Dean has dragged Hank into the bathroom to keep him from further embarrassment. Eventually, everyone ends up in the bathrooms: Hank accidentally urinates on his pants and gets the bright idea to use a hand dryer. Limb enters the bathroom unnoticed by the two boys and slips into a stall.
